As Random as It Gets

Of many things that happened this summer, something stood out from the rest... not because it was memorable, but rather it was stupid, naive and well, dangerous I should say. I didn't know what I was thinking at that time but funny how you think back and say, "dang, that was stupid" So here it goes.

It was a lovely day in August. Finished my 3-month internship with KPMG and was ready for my first trip with my girlfriends to Penang. I was excited because I never went on a trip all by myself with my lovely gurls =D Woke up at about 6am and the excitement just couldn't be contained. I texted my best friend ever and told him I will be off in a bit =D

Went to the airport and found out my flight was cancelled and rescheduled for an evening flight. I was extremely annoyed because I only had like 2 days to spend in Penang before I fly to Kuala Lumpur but what else could I have done. I was too upset to make a racket out of it instead I called kiddo and had a soft rant about it for a bit =o) He was like oh it happens blah blah blah and technically calmed me down for awhile.

That night, I took the plane to Penang and told my pals I was going to be late due to the reschedules. They flew in from Kuala Lumpur so their flight was not affected. Here was I thinking hell I am not going to take a taxi on my own in the middle of the night in a place I never been to. On the flight, I was feeling so desperate I asked the family beside me whether I could hitch their taxi with them to the city [georgetown] just so I can walk to my hotel from theirs [its pretty close I assumed]. They were very kind and said it was okay.

However, my pal called me after I landed and said "a friend" of hers will be giving me a ride. I am like SWEET. She say "look out for a BMW four wheel drive".. My eyebrows raised for a bit. Okay....

Then I waited for a bit. Phone rang and this guy was like, "Hey, is this Serena, your friend asked me to pick you up and I'll be there in a bit. Look out for a black SUV. " [I actually forgot his name so I'll call him John Doe for now XD] So his car pulled up at the departure hall in minutes and he offered to take my luggage into his car's trunk. I greeted and introduced myself and then got into the car.

We started talking and well, being a ge poh, I asked him about what he does and yada yada yada. Found out he did his secondary education in Singapore and post-secondary in Australia. And now he works in a clothing production factory in Penang. Then my phone vibrated and my gal texted, "Hey, are you in his car? Be careful ok?" I was confused and like what?? Careful? Now that was weird...but I was like don't tell me you don't know this lad here thats driving me to bloody I-don't-know where!

Then I was looking around the car and started a conversation, " Er, isn't this a Porche Cayenne??"

He chuckled and replied, " Oh yeah, they were asking and I randomly told them its a BMW because don't think they know how to describe this car"

I am like, "owh okay, cool. Cayenne is a pretty nice car BUT I think the Hummer is awesome =D"

I think he went blank for a bit haha here this random gal is talking cars with me? what on earth? But it was a nice chat. And mind you, when I get excited about X5 and LR2, its a bit funny.. hehe

Then I soon found out he was a friend of a friend of my friend. That was why she didnt exactly know who he was and you get the story. We ended up in a karaoke lounge drinking for a bit. I wasn't really impressed by the lads. They were filthy rich I know but I was rather turn off for many reasons. So I actually spend the night talking to my best pal =o) using the awesome high-speed wireless while drinking super-diluted Martel [i think that was it] which tasted LITERALLY like H2O XD At first I was apprehensive when they offered it, but then I am like, its just water.. haha but yeah..

My friend's friend then offered to send us back to our hotel and on the way out of the lounge, they were like, " Can you see the condo in front of you, one of those cost like 3 million Ringgit [1 million Canadian Dollars if you are interested] and I am like dang thats crazy.. And they said, "yeah, the guy that drove you here lives there". I am like dang, he must be earning lots...

But being Serena who has this hobbit-like curiousity, I was asking the lad that was drivin us random questions like "So, that lad that owned that 3 mil condo, how does he finance that place?....Is there a mortgage for that amount of money???...How can someone earn so much this young??" He hesitated a bit... but then I kinda got the feeling I should stop..hehe

That night when we 3 gals squeeze into one queen size bed and talked for a bit, they told me they didn't know the guy who drove me to the lounge to meet them and that's why they told me to be careful. That time I am like okaaaaayyy.. To save RM60 I hitched a ride from a total stranger. Just what I need to freak myself out. LOL but yeah, no offence though, he was a nice chap but mind you, he's like 29 years old. That was disturbing to say the VERY least.

But yeah, it was a bizzare night. Wouldn't actually try to repeat the feat again and get myself into a bucketload of trouble. Nevertheless I had tons of fun with my gals, they were awesome and the food was YUMMY GOOD :P I busted my bank of cash by leeching out of taxi fares and night market stuffs.. it was sad but worth the money still! The historical sites were AWESOME and learning from the past was crazy fun!

Its been two rough weeks...very rough weeks I would say... for many reasons actually... but one surpassed all in ruining my September...but all is done... I cant fret for my mistakes, nor can I undo the things that I've done or hadn't do... just bitty too late I should say...

I am grateful though, for some things God has provided over this few months... some gave insights in life that I thought was lost, some has sustained me enough to just carry on a bit longer...so here it goes...

I am thankful for the icky 4 months of the year =D

Every summer has been a lifeline because it shows me the existence of peace, joy and laughter... And it's so amazing how it just sweeps away the pain and sufferings I have endured... I felt alive...

I am thankful for you =)

Bittersweet as it is... you've shown me lots that I never thought I could've imagined... Wise wise you are... Caring, thoughtful and beyond all that, you made me smile =] it was a short 6 months of friendship, laughter, joy, love and laughter... but it was priceless, memorable and ever-lasting... Thank you kiddo for you xxx

I dunno what else to say... without you both, I don't think I could've survive this two weeks... its been painful, unbearable and lost... you guys were there when all hope were lost... when it didnt seem to be a chance for me to move on after this.. of all things, I am blessed by God for you two.. *big hug* though distance separates us, the care and kindness I feel strong within me...

It's amazing how you work in my life this far and of all the doors shut, I was disappointed and sad, but I know You will be standing beside me as You pave the way I am to take in this long journey called L.I.F.E... Yesterday was horrid for many reasons...

I felt like shedding tears but they wont come for no reasons...

I tried to sleep but the dreams won't come either...

A Day in the Cubicle

Ahhhh... It's nearly a month since I've embarked on my first full-time job!!! And boy should I say it was definitely a roller-coaster ride!!

It started out sluggish as I had no clue on what I was supposed to do and what not. Good thing was I wasn't the only fresh meat that day. Two other interns and one permanent staff also started on the same day as I did and what did you know, one of them used to be my senior in my highschool! Things couldnt've been betta =D

Well, to be honest, I wasn't exactly enjoying the first few days of work because I see no point in what I was asked to do. Petty stuffs I would sau =/ But soon after all the moaning and grumbling, I realised when you add those things up, it makes more sense!

The people I've met and those who are my so-called mentors are extremely helpful and nice! Forget bout the mean seniors that dump work at you because I have been proven much much otherwise =D They try their best to teach you the procedures needed to perform audit tests and explain the reasons behind them.. I felt like God had blessed me soo much throughout this few weeks!

And just last week our firm had a casual dinner and planned to have a movie afterwards but unfortunately the cinema's projector broke down so we went out for yam cha [basically you'll need to be malaysian to know what this is =D] I get to know my colleagues better and it was definitely awesome to realised many of us came from the SAME highschool! Small world indeed! The thing I noticed about my workplace is that the workforce comprise of very young people thus the atmosphere in the office is rather lively and helpful as the experience of finding one''s own footing is still fresh in everyone's memory. I am rather glad I chose working here despite the hecticness and what not. Still, definitely an eye-opener!

Summer Shopping Spree

As many of you have noticed, Arsenal was literally dismantled head to toe throughout this season with a string of unfortunate injuries. Needless to say, after much disappointment and a display of poor performance, I hope Wenger has realised by now of the dire need of getting some fresh legs to avoid reliving this nightmare all over again next season.

1. Joe Hart - £ 8 Mil
At a tender age of 23, Joe Hart possesses some promising talent to keep goals out of his net as well as scoring great penalties! He easily outperforms Fabianski in terms on maturity, wits and nerves. Wenger should really (and sure is at the moment) consider this lad as a great addition for our weak and crumbling defence.2.Craig Gordon - £ 15 Mil
This bright Scottish lad was brought in from Hearts to Sunderland with a £9 Mil price tag and he does seem like he is worth the money. His excellent display when playing international matches for Scotland also caught my attention.

Steve Bruce has denied and bashed any desire to sell this young talent but hopefully Wenger can come up with a reasonable bid to soften him up.

3. Hugo lloris- £ 15 Mil
Again, for a 23 year old and having the ability to contain his nerves on the big European stage can surely raise eyebrows all around. Alex Ferguson has made his move in trying to secure this talent with a bid of £15 mil. Arsene Wenger can consider investing a huge chunk of his pocket money on this lad and maybe try selling Fabianski to anyone who dares to even consider. Realistically speaking, we are in great need of a quality keeper if we want to dream about getting trophies anytime soon. 5. Moussa Sissoko - £ 15 Mil
Wenger is planning to bid for this lad for £10 Mil which is far below the valued price. Nevertheless, he would definitely be a great add. His flexibility to be defensive and an attacking midfielder means he can play different role in different cirumstances that may arise.
6. Maicon Douglas Sisenando
He is a rightback who is currently attracting a lot of attention from rich clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester City and has caught my attention with his great volley last week. In addition to that, he scored a nice goal today against Barcelona! Unfortunately, he was streched off due to injury. =( Nevertheless, it's rather impossible to outbid these two other clubs so I guess I will have to give this a pass.7. Davide Santon -£ 20 Mil (please Mourinho??)
Currently valued at £20 mil means Wenger will have to think deep and long before making a move on this fullback. He's absolute phenomenal for his age and Manchester United has been keen in getting this nineteen year old star-in-the-making last year. His ability to play both right and left is a plus to be considered!8. Yaya Torre (pricey tho =/)
He will sure to have come with a very expensive price tag. Given he had expressed interest in the past to join his brother ex-Gunner, Kolo Toure at Arsenal, he is a quality defensive midfielder who have a strong presence on the pitch. Nevertheless, he seems content playing with the Catalans and have silence rumours of a move to the Premier League thus a move is rather unlikely.9. David Luiz (To replace Gallas)
This well known fullback can definitely help ease the pressure and work for Sol Campbell, giving everyone a breather. Will definitely make a good pair with Vermaelen =) 10. Ribery (One of the pricest in this list to be honest, Chelsea is interested in securing this lad and well, he himself is showing interest of moving =/)!! I know its rather ridiculous to even think about getting more than 3 of the above but yeah, would definitely like to see some fresh faces in the squad!!

Just A Little Too Late

Anticipation and Dreams

Of all the expectations I had for Arsenal this season, most of it was reduced to a flicker last night. At the start of the season, we had promising talents that rose quickly to challenge elite clubs on the European stage as well as in the Premier League. Young and fresh talents like Arshavin, Aaron Ramsey, Samir Nasri and Vermaelen has definitely boosted our strength defensively as well as offensively. And for that I applaud Wenger for making wise wise buying decision.

Stormy days

Unfortunately, thing took a turn for the worse and we were struck by a string of long-term injuries that shattered most of our dreams for a trophy this season. Wenger might have great plans for our team this year but he could not have anticipated nor avoid the woes that had befallen upon our team.

Dampen Spirits and Hopes

Losing pivotal players like Robin Van Persie, Fabregas and Rosicky to long-term injuries has significantly tampered our chance of clinching our first cup in many years. Many have pointed out the fact that Persie could have been vital in giving us a boost in offence as he had went off on a great start this season. Yet, a silly tackle ruined almost the whole season for him.

What ifs and Could haves

There's a lot of could haves and what ifs going through my mind at this moment. However, as brutal as reality can be, "This is football" my friend reminded me today. Anything can happen, nothing is impossible. We had a fairly good possession last night but the key thing is turning those possession into goals. Sometimes things just work against our will... the boos and jeers of the crowd, the keeper making fine saves, just getting a heavier touch than usual can turn on us in a flicker of a second.

Mix Emotions

This few weeks has definitely been a roller-coaster. We had fought well to keep ourselves in sight of the coveted cup but that was not enough. Nevertheless, I still want to applaud the youngsters for showing such resilience and courage throughout these difficult times. It takes more to swallow up your failures and face a new dawn knowing that you can definitely do better than that. I can see boundless of potential lying inside these lads and I am looking forward to see them play for their country this summer and of course next season for Arsenal. Thus, I remind myself all the time that if we had fought the best we could and still lose a match, I can still hold my head high.

p//s Losing to Tottenham is still unacceptable and I demand vengeance next season! =3 They were lucky Gomez kept his fingers steady =/ However, I cannot deny Rose had a fine goal =/ Still, urgh!!

Welcome Back

Nevertheless I am thrilled that Robin Van Persie made a great comeback and had 3 great shots! =O After a lengthy 5 month hiatus, he is definitely in a great form and I just wished (BADLY) we had him for the whole season ='( I am looking forward to see him play soon!

Rant from the Soul

And finally, I just want to say this out of annoyance. Since I became an avid fan of Arsenal, people were skeptical of my passion for football just because of my gender. As ridiculous as it sounds, it does happen. As much as it offends me, I don't feel like I am obliged to prove anything to anyone. It just disappoints me how they would say things like "it's a guy sport" while not knowing anything about me or the sport itself. As weird as it sounds,I have never been ashamed to be the twenty-year-old-odd-ball-girl-who-does-not-fit-into-the-status-quo and is stranded in a place where football is called "soccer". I love the sport and agrees that there's nothing more beautiful than a good game of football =)

Can't wait for next season! and well, the rest of the games this season too = l

Europe 2012 Update #2

After some painful hours of checking (and double-checking) available inter-country trains and what not.. here's a better view of how the arduous journey will look like. I decided that i might not be able to visit sweden and finland this time due to the time constraint =/ maybe next time.

Is this possible?

Well, it depends on many factors i guess, namely Time, Money and Desire. we'll just have to wait and see =)

now when i think of it.. i might start off at Brussels =/ since im forgoing time to tune myself to the time diff anyways... mmm

p//s noticed there are some multiples for certain locations? haha, thats because those are the only hub that have connecting trains out and in (from what i know of) from the country.

There's 23 spots im visiting excluding places like Patra and Bari where I need to pass through to go to the following location ;)

My pal told me a 3 day 2 night stay at each place is good enough so im planning on doing that. Including the time between locations, i need to make sure I finish this within the 90 days. Its going to be tough but i believe i can =D

The only two things that worries me is how am i to fund myself and the fear of not being able to communicate with people that dont know english =S

I seriously need a legitimate internship next summer! *cross my fingers* if not, this is all for nothing =( sigh

haha.. took me hours to figure out roughly how things are going to go..

For the time being, their 32 spots and i only have 90 days before my Eurorail global pass (cost almost a friggin $1400!) expires so i need to complete this journey within that period! so i definitely need to forgo some places and spend most of my time sleeping on a train to save time for sightseeing! =D

Alas, it's the day we know that making small mistakes can cost us dearly indeed.

Today...

I definitely expected more than a cautious, slow paced, heavy passes and miscommunication to ruin our chances to advance. We definitely have paid our price.

Anyhow...

I still want to applaud everyone for doing a rather satisfactory job though there's a lot of could haves and would haves going on. We definitely put up a better fight than in the first leg but unfortunately, its not enough. We missed a lot of chances which could have changed our fate in this game. And I cant say more than that.

In the end...

Barca was definitely the stronger team...no doubt about that. but we had our chances and we never clinched to it. They outplayed us in term of speed, clean passes, counter-attack and the desire to win. Everytime they lose the ball, they fought their hardest to win it back. Messi displayed a superb performance that no one can deny. His talent to steer around defenders and pin-point accuracy in finishing just makes everyone applaud in respect. Like anyone would say, we can never know the extent of the potential that this lad can achieve.. Even Pep confessed he ran out of adjectives to describe this lad haha

Like how the commentators reminded me, there is no disgrace losing to the best team in the world. Chin up guys, we've have a lot of ground to cover in the Premier League!

Trying Times

Well, as the week started, the odds starting pilling against us. We were without Robin Van Persie, Gibbs, Gallas, Fabregas, Arshavin and now things take a change for the worst. Sol is doubtful to start and I understand what he is going through. Rosicky is a doubtful too due to the tackle on Saturday and Song is definitely a no-go. I mean, how can things get any worse than this?

Without Fabby, we need Nasri, Song or Rossy to fill his spot and maintain a strong midfield presence. And now without Song, things are going to get a bit tricky. I really think that playing Theo during the last few moments would definitely be wise thus we cant put him on the pitch first. We leaves us with a problem lacking or strong, good midfielders (and also defenders too =/).

Wenger named his squad as follows:

Almunia, Fabianski, Bendtner, Eduardo, Diaby, Nasri, Denilson, Fran Merida, Walcott, Eastmond, Rosicky, Traore, Eboue, Clichy, Sagna, Vermaelen, Campbell, Silvestre

Tough tough decisions to make.. making the best out of what we have definitely isnt inviting at all =/ sigh but we do have some slight encouragement. The Catalans is without their pivotal swede striker Ibrahimovic and also their two best central defenders Puyol and Pique. However, we cant never EVER take this easily. With the likes of Henry, Xavi and Messi on the hunt of revenge, we can never rest easily.

It's safe to say we really need to count on Theo Walcott to do his magic and feed Bendtner with tip-top crosses and what not. He's definitely on the spotlight to go against all odds in securing our place in the semi-finals. Our chances are slim but not zero.

This team has played valiantly for all this times, reading their life stories have definitely touched my hart. The likes of Denilson coming from a drug-infested neighbourhood and having a loving father who does all he could to bring food to the table and instill the passion of his beloved sport in his sons is just touching indeed. Just imaging what life he had in his past and how well he is doing now just tells me how things are always possible in life!

Before last night, I never thought skyping for a whollop 3 hours was possible.. then, i was proved wrong indeed ;)

Before then, I shudder with the thought of not knowing the last time I have pour out my heart and emotions to a friend =/ Definitely freaked me out a bit, but God-willing, God knows how much my heart can go on without the desire to have someone close at heart if not near at sight.

Sometimes i doubt that God knows me enough to test me to the limit of my emotional capacity... but everytime I just need to remind myself to trust Him that He knows exactly what I need and what I dont need. Even when life seems harsh enough to walk away from, I still need to remind myself there's no giving up soon...

I am disappointed with myself for years now. Being hypocritical and not Christ-like in many ways.. Ashamed, let down and battered in dignity... I guess it dawns to me I cant do this alone.. yet it always feel like Im alone..

Good Friday didnt turn out as I expected.. I thought it would've been a good day to just draw near to His Presence.. phailed miserably at service..just couldnt seem to concentrate just enough..

But now, at a time where I get to reflect on the past 24 hours, I feel like gosh.. I just gotta say thank you Lord for keeping me alive.. not well, but alive still..

I was reminded on Tuesday's PM that well, there's alot of things to be grateful of and thats gotta keep me going because I have something to look forward to..

I'm grateful for being born in Malaysia..it sounds foolish but after years of complaining, i've seen the other side of things =) Life back home is irreplaceable nor imitated. The feeling of being free from scrutiny or awkwardness just gives peace to my soul..

I'm grateful for friends...as the matter in fact, I feel like God has blessed me too much for so many wonderful non-believer friends! They have really shown me another whole dimension in life... Ironically, I find peace and love where I thought would've been found at some other place.. I have a sense of belonging amongst people that need to know God the most.. Its interesting to see how I feel that sometimes, they are more willing to share and be themselves without a veiled mask.. Somehow, I feel like I can trust them more for their word..funny enough, most of my best buddies doesnt know Christ.. I know many may disagree, but for 18 years of my life.. thats what i've taken out of it.. sad but true..

And to this I'm ashamed of myself.. for I have been one of the filthy hypocrites.. those who were "supposed" to take in the hurt and the sick, those who were supposed to be the one to count on when things doesnt come out right... can I change? I hope i can.. need to try at least...

Good Friday Good Friday... Jesus, for all the things you've given me, I have always wanted one thing in life for these past few years.. its that I'll get to see my pals with me in heaven.. Two of the arguably most promising players of the decade... Cesc Fabregas and his long-time team mate Lionel Messi since their time in the Barca Youth Team. Along with pique, they have stormed into the arena of football with much to offer. Just looking at this picture is heartwarming indeed =')

Hmmm im not sure if this result is worth celebrating or not.. we managed to clinch a vital 2-2 draw at the Emirates.. but winning at Nou Camp is certainly far from possible... Today, its pretty obvious the Gunners were suffering from lack of composure.. everyone was pretty stiff and nerves were emanating through the air! (me included)

Watching the game was unhealthy as it can get... my body was trembling for a whole 45 minutes as well, the lads were pretty much been slaughtered in possesions and what not. Im impressed by the performance Almunia gave after being critized over his play against Birmingham =/ He certainly deserves much appreciation that what he has before! Gooo Almunia! splendid saves that def kept Arsenal's hopes alive >.<

Even though I wanted the Gunners to advance really badly, what i want more is a fair and clean game. The referee did a pretty bad job in calling tackles and what not.. not impressed at all =( The Catalans really have shown what they are capable of and I applaud them for a spectacular performance! Zlatan is insane but I really wanna give credits to our four defenders, i think they did a great job keeping messi and zlatan at bay whenever they poses a danger hehe

This game brought along the realization that well, we are really short of defenders =/ Gallas was obviously a loss cause and putting him on the pitch was def an ill choice Mr Wenger =/ but i understand the situation we are in. Sol is def over-exhausted after playing so many matches consecutively and we need someone! I somehow wished Senderos is here.. but alas things have changed.. still, i relish having pique and puyol.. they are pretty amazing defenders! i mahu i mahu :P

Fabby gave a great fight... i think he knows how vital we need to at least give everyone the hope.. As I await the results of the scan, i can only say he has done too much for the club.. Sacrificing the possibility of playing in the World Cup just to keep this flicker of hope alive, thank you is just not enuf..

Theo was amazing today too =D coming in as a sub, cudnt have been better.. in front of the likes of Errikson and Fabio was def vital for his spot in the WC..

Today was wonderful actually.. finally gotta chat wit a long lost buddy.. haha.. somehow i get more swearing from him than words XD but def good to keep in touch =) its been awhile since we argued over whether Robin van Persie was a great footie or not..haha those were the days..

And finally.. today reminded me of something...

Football is def an beautiful art.. definitely the best sport this world has and will ever see.. the power it has to bind people of different backgrounds, thousand of miles apart, of every creed, religion and beliefts.. it unites beyond all else.. mmmm

Today i witnessed a spectacular display of determination to win by both sides, the determination of not giving up, the will to survive, the will to fight the odds, the glimmer of hope that keeps our spirits high.

Will we win? Will we lose? i dunno.. but still as i need to remind myself (again).. gotta keep believing!!

The commentators said something that caught my attention.. as we were trailing two goals, they know the supporters need to really channel their encouragement and the team have to clinch to this as a lifeline to fight on... As the crowd chanted "Arsenal..Arsenal".. i still believe we can =)

Today was bad enuf with us getting a silly point at St Andrews.. now, my nose is annoying me more than usual...

Nosebleed is something thats as common as menstruation for me for no reason... =.= and its getting worse this few years.. sometimes i think i mite have nose cancer or whut =.= Unfortunately I consulted 3 or 4 "doctors" in BC and they just shrugged it off and didnt even bother to have a look at it. I still wonder why LOL gold diggers is the only reason i manage to come up with.. thats why i never even bother wasting my time going to the clinics unless well, i got shot or stabbed by a rapier =.=

cmon, i know nosebleed is sort of common but having two or more a day isnt NORMAL... Weird enough, I had a bloody bath today.. literally.. as I jumped into the shower, it started bleeding.. I didnt even bother wasting time so just continued on having my shower. I wonder what effects does blood have when u rubbed it on your skin like your soap... haha thats what i did.. coz it was dripping all over my belly XD

Anyway, Im just frustrated no one came up with any reason or deductions to why is this happening... i hate feeling the disgusting taste of blood on my tongue when i accidentally lift up my chin yuck!

oh btw, still deciding whether to take the European Summer program where u get to visit and study at 4 different universities in Europe (UK, France, Spain, Czech Republic) or just do a normal exchange to Aus =/ tough choice, both seemed fun =3

And IF i do the exchange for Aus, i have no idea which uni to go to!! =3 UWA seems like a really gud uni but not alot of my pals are studying there and UBC doesnt have a partnership with Curtin (urgh!) if not I'll have an easy choice =.= The next option is to go to University of Melbourne where all the guys are. . . but i dunno how that might work since they all have their gang of people who go out and get drunk every friday, saturday and sunday... lol but mmm it'll be nice to hang out with people u never met in a while..haha.. just hope i dont get tempted to drink too much... a sip will do :P

Well, it is pretty obvious, but just so you know, I am not a "good" student.. a pretty lazy and nasty one actually.. but heh.. better than being hypocritic XD

Here are some of the things I have done to proof my point ;)

I skip classes for many odd reasons like another hour of sleep, just being lazy, watch *cough* champions league, and also just being lazy :)
I skip classes also when I see there is no point of going to them when I have a 3 hour breaks in between or when I never understand what the teachers' lecturing about
I ask my pals to sign the attendance sheet for me XD
When i can't skip (in highschool), I SLEEP in class haha and a BIG THANK YOU to people who kept a lookout for the teachers who are suppose to come in to class
I don't do homeworks in highschool because well, we dont get marks for it and I rather do my tutor's assignments
I spend most of the time in my highschool's physics class having my back facing the teacher and talking to peeps..which i regretted as it was rude =/ but i cant understand her and she cant understand us! (She actually loathed our group and we cant blame her.. the only problem was we were kinda the ones who usually get unusually top marks for physics all thanks to our great lovely tutors! Bless you, I had 3 physics tutors at one time in my life.. brutal really)
I eat in class even when I am not allowed too (years ago when my metabolism was fortunately unusually high) I miss those days =(
I had a quarrel with a teacher once when he tried to marked me for not doing my hw when I only missed a page of notes..the whole class was rebelling against him tho =/ He ended up not completing our coursework before our provincials.. urgh!
I love taking long walks to the washroom during classtime
I position myself in a strategic spot to chat with my pals when the teacher isnt looking haha.. I cant blame myself especially when we just finished watching a champions league match at 3AM!
I like visiting my neighbouring class in between classtime
I was a bad bad prefect coz I never was brave enough to punish anyone =/
I talked too much in class as my chem teacher always reminded me of ;) but we both love each other so much still =D
All my form teachers alway say I yak too much.. haha.. which I admit with a happy heart.. but they dont complain if my marks are good enuf hehe
I found a sick way to sleep in class during the last year in Lok Yuk XD Basically just put a book you're supposed to be reading on ur lap and lay ur head on your arms while u sleep. It did work ;) ALL for the <3>

Gud tymes gud tymes.. haha still, dont get me wrong, I do regret some of the naive stuffs I committed in highschool. However, it serves as a powerful reminder of how people grew out of some stuffs and how sometimes, even its painful, we gotta move on...

Till that happens, here's a short trip down memory lane.. now when i think of it, i'll write a another snipet on my highschool years..mmhmm

The Past and The Future

Haha... I just had a chat with a soon-to-be lawyer Vigit and realised it has been awhile since we've kept in touch!! =S *ouch*

However, doesnt seem to lose any of his sarcasm as a Red Devil ;)

aaaaaaannnddd we made a deal!! =D

A DEAL that we will watch a game between Arsenal and Manchester United one day in the future!! and we WILL =)

The conditions was "i will behave in emirates.. as you would behave in the theatre of dreams.." sounds easy?? actually not quite...

as I can only FEAR for the WORST ;) That is why I reminded him to prepare a box of tissue and a bulletproof vest for either I break down and cry or I'll punch him hard when *cough* happens.. yea, I know.. footie fans get emotional.. even if the Gunners do win, I still need to restrain from "expressing" my joy too much or else get punched in the face XD but I know he wont ;)

BUT

I still recall he gave me a strong slap on my hand when I shook his hand congratulating on his loss ( He thought Manchester United won, but turned out we did!! ;P thanks to Henry's last minute header! dang, my memory is gOOd heh) good times good times...

Memories like this keeps me sane and I am extremely grateful for them... They literally kept me alive and composed for three years and I hope it'll carry me through three more years till I graduate. Hmmm, nothing like good happy memories and moments to keep the spirits up when things seems to be so bleak and weary. As Pastor Andrew kindly reminded me a few weeks ago, its pretty true indeed. Without these memories, I am afraid I would have definitely end up in my grave or my urn (I am in favour of cremation..saves money and space XD)...

Still still, summer is the time to just squeeze in some happy times before the storm comes again.. mmmm cant wait cant wait

No, its not because i ran out of books to read and its not because I'm a crazy Harry Potter fanatic (maybe I am a bit haha).. its because it kinda became sort of a countdown event two years ago for me as I anticipate the end of the winter term and for summer to start.. and well of course, thats when the time I start packing for home =) Yea, its sorta a remedy to keep my mind busy while I dont get crazy or too homesick when the time edges nearer each day...

p//s I got the "Dream Diary" idea from Trelawney ;)

I slept at like 2am (or i think it was 3am due to the daylight saving thingy) on Sunday.. and for some reason, i had this weird crazy but happy dream.. XD

Somehow, I was dreaming that I stumbled on an Arsenal tour bus and saw a few players alighting the bus.. Funny enough, the only guy I can remember was Theo Walcott. I was asking profusely for their autographs and they signed my jersey! The worst part of the dream is when I realised I forgot to bring my camera! =( Thats when I asked them if they could hang on a sec while I get it and Theo coolly nodded his head. Then the dream ended =/

And that was the time when I realised it was all just a dream...

Haha...this sounds weird i know, but im just using this as a draft for Bleacher Report :P Cause writting something shabby and gritty to an audience of crazy passionate Gunners would be the utmost shame and disgrace..so here it goes!

As always, the British media has its ways of picking on foreign managers in the Premier League such as Rafael Benitez, Jose Mourinho and etc. Like anyone else, Arsene Wenger has his fair share of criticism and has been on their radar constantly for these past seasons. Like hungry hyenas in the Savannah Desert, sport journalists and commentators will never let go of any opportunity to condemn or raise doubts on Arsene Wenger's capability as a club manager. Some even go to the lengths of suggesting he is losing his touch and is making unjustified claims and decisions especially in regards to the lack of "purchases" during the past years.

However, it is fortunate that some passionate lovers of the sport does not fail to look at things from a broader perspective and well, with a little more rationale and common sense. Here are some of the reasons for why I hold the utmost respect and trust for Arsene Wenger.

Wisdom

It is fair to say that one gains more wisdom as one ages. As time lapsed, Arsene Wenger has been a manager at Arsenal more than a decade clearly depicts the immense experience he had while holding such a vital position in the team. Sometimes when he makes controversial or abrupt shifts in the team formations or decides who gets to be on the list, I just get so frustrated because I don't know what is going through his mind (!!) and still I trust him. This is due to the fact that I understand that in reality, he knows his players way better than anyone from the public (me included) and he knows what is best for them.

Understanding

His recent decisions on not giving a timeline for when Ramsey should recover from his tragic accident as well as not passing any judgement on Bendtner's recent lack of performance during Burnley's match deserves much of an applaud.

"We are very optimistic, but if I say he will be back on July 15 [for example], and he does not play, then it will be a big mental blow to Aaron."

"Bendtner will not be affected by his off-target performance on Saturday"

"Anything which helps us qualify is good,” said the Frenchman. “We always practice penalties in training but not the day before a game because it can have negative influences if you miss."

When asked about his opinion about the Dutch Federation's optimism about Robin Van Persie's early-than-expected comeback, he disagreed and said "No, I would love to agree but I believethey [the Dutch FA] are a bit optimistic in that”

He understanding of exactly what the players need to regain their confidence after serious mishaps or just even to maintain composure after a series of lack of performance just shows how well he plays the role of a manager and I really respect him for that.

Love him or hate him. Arsene Wenger has flair when it comes to conveying his thoughts to the public. Whenever he sees a need to voice his opinion,boy will he not hesitate. In recent years, he has been a strong advocate in the issue of implementing video replays as Arsenal has been a victim of quite a few nasty mistakes made by line-referees.

"We need to make sure nobody goes home and feels cheated by the wrong decision."

Other than that, when being hounded and criticized by reporters for his lack of purchases and the "poor" performances, He never cease to defend himself against their ridiculous claims where they are trying to blame on him and his decisions (or should I say lack of actions)

"It's strange because I go to the press conferences where you [reporters] ask me 'you let too many goals in'. Meanwhile we have the best attack and people ask me 'why dont you buy strikers'?"

Besides the serious stuffs, I sometime feel amused by the frenchman choice of words and his opinions regarding various matter. Here are some of my picks:

When asked about whether Theo was playing "too nice" during the Burnley match, he responded

"He (Theo Walcott) is polite," said the manager. "But it does not mean he is nice. There is a difference. When someone is polite, that comes from education. Nice depends when you have things that matter for him and fight with him then you see how nice a guy he is."

One of the many virtues Arsene Wenger possesses is the courage to humbly admit his mistakes and wrongdoings even when it seems it may well "tarnish" his reputation as a key figure in the Premier League. However, he seems to think otherwise and rightfully so. Sometimes, it takes more to swallow up your pride and admit your blunders than walk by with a blind eye.

“But as well sometimes I nearly feel guilty to do that because when Aaron goes for the ball like he did on Saturday and gets done like he did, it is not an easy situation.

Needless to say, Arsene Wenger plays a notable role in the arena of football. His philosophy and style of play makes him stand out from the other prominent managers in this century. His belief in investing in fresh, young and unknown players and talents has definitely paid off in the recent decades. Managers prize the ability to purchase players at an affordable prices and hone them into great world-class players and Wenger is one of them that have achieved a great success in doing so. Incidentally, the likes of Patrick Vierra, Theirry Henry, Adebayor, Cesc Fabregas and many more has flourished under the reign of Arsene Wenger. Clubs like Real Madrid are dying to get their hands on the frenchman just proves his capability as an accomplished manager while players hold great respect for him as a mentor, a teacher and a coach. Sometimes, things that he say just makes me feel a deep sense of reverence towards him.

As a matter of fact, this article is written not intended to woo people into liking him or reason why he deserves your respect. It is just a tribute for his past accomplishments and his role as a great manager with Arsenal.

Lastly, I just want to share that the reason why I did this was because I saw this tweet after we have won our second leg against FC Porto last week.

"Arsenal goes 3, then 4-0 - the crowd turns round and sings 'there's only [one] Arsene Wenger' to Stan Collymore. Hilarious."

Fittingly so, I think it definitely portrays how much we appreciate his contributions more than any words I can spare for this article =)

Congrats Gunners for being able to be composed and sealed a much needed victory today!! It was a very very late win but I think you guys deserved a chance in the title race! but I hope you guys can step up to the challenge! Arshavin had a great goal but he had a couple of chances which he unfortunately had missed terribly =/ still, keep the hopes high!!

Back to reality :
DONE midterms finally!!!

Now before i get myself all freak out by my poor results, lotsa things lined up for this week...and here are some of them =(

I need to redo a legit cheat sheet for stats before the Final exam so I dont kill myself tryna find answers in the textbook during tht time!
COOP apps is due this thurday so I need have my resume and cover letter ready soon =/
Sign up for Barclays World in 90 Minutes contest.. its a teeny weeny chance but I am really desperate to watch a live match at Emirates =/
Coaching appointment on Monday to touch up my cover letter so i hope i dont forget!!

On the 1st of March... usual day as ever..getting back to the rhythm of the busy life... feels sluggish as ever...

I was supposed to meet up with someone at broaway-commercial skytrain station at 4pm to buy my finance textbook (midterm was on wednesday;) ) Apparently the bus arrived earlier.. Called him up, say he cudnt make it untill 4:30pm.. im like wth! but ahhh, i'll just wait...

Decided to go have a cup of caffeine at Mcdonalds and a McDouble (bad choice when u try to diet) while i wait.. I did some manegerial accounting to take my mind off how annoyed I was.. wasting time waiting while I could go back and have a break before heading to the gym.

Then, while i was crunching numbers on my Casio, a little boy came up and mumbled something to me. I was confused but he caught my attention.

I said "excuse me?"

He pointed to my jacket and said: " I said I like you jacket"

I am like " owh...thanks"

For a second I didnt know what to respond because compliments like that are hard to come by especially from strangers but it was a sweet one. Unusual but sweet. reminds me that sometimes, we can offer little stuffsa to strangers like a morning greeting, a friendly smile or just asking how are you doing? Things like that, I believe, goes a long way =)

Just When I thought Things Couldn't Get Any Worse

9:30AM The Game Started. We needed a win that i was sure.

9:38AM As expected, Rory's throw-in helped set up the goal..I was speechless and very annoyed... But we have to fight back, we just have to...

10:02AM Bendtner nicked in an equalizer.. alas, we have hope..my spirit was high..Im anticipating

10:15AM Half-time

10:45AM Second-half began... let's get things done I thought...

Minutes passed...I was getting frustrated..yes, I was...

11.05AM All hell broke lose. . . At first I never noticed anything but then when people started crowding in on Ramsey and ushering in the medics, a very bad feeling creeps in...It felt like my soul was sucked out of my body. . .silence. . .confusion. . .fear. . .terror. . .

Then everyone realised what really happened. . .It was horrid. . .everything went numb. . .It sure was numb. . .

At the end of the day, we got our three points... yes, we closed in on the gap but lose something more valuable than a chance in the title race. . . we lost a comrade, a friend, a rising star, a nineteen year old lad who aspire to become the next best footballer. We won by a margin, but we lost a great deal more. How much more bittersweet can something in life be?

Things really went numb as I watched the last 30 minutes of the game. It portrayed all the mixed emotions one could ever comprehend and feel at the same time. Yes, people were dribbling and passing the ball. Even miles away from the Britannia Stadium, I can sense the blandness and lack of luster thats affecting all the players on the pitch. This was no mere game to be played. And finally, Fabregas nicked in a penalty and Vermaelen finished the game with a third.

The final whistle was blown. It ended. or did it?

Life doesnt just come to a standstill when the final whistle is blown. A life's dream has probably just slipped into the oblivion. Has anyone noticed, I wonder? Fifa World Cup is just around the corner and this young lad's opportunity to play for his country is now GONE. Whose to blame? Whose to judge?

I personally believe Shawcross tackle was unintentional but it was definitely heavy. After looking over the tackle a couple times, yes, it was fair to say it was a 50:50. But then, it was still very disappointing when tragic things like this happened when it can be prevented at the first place. People keep pointing out the fact that the mentality of football and how its played should be questioned and challenged. And I agree. The thing is Shawcross himself was not the one to be blame nor there is anyone to judge his actions. We as a community of football fans, footballers, managers, officials and members of the FAs should really make a stand and let everyone know that this is unacceptable and is not to be tolerated. Football is a sport that brings nation together in a game that is played with passion, endurance, a positive mentality and not with violence.

I cant help but hearing the occurrence of multiple mishaps and horrible accidents and this must STOP. Petr Cech, Carlo Cudicini, Park, Eduardo, Diaby and now Aaron Ramsey...We dont need that do we?For one, I say we can definitely enjoy this beautiful sport with the neat flicks, crosses, volleys or set-pieces without contemplating to knock our opponents down and hard.

I just hope and pray that Ramsey will have a swift recovery and we are looking forward to see you play again xxx

After last night's major breakdown, I thought at least I could have a peaceful day but it turned out otherwise...

Some random guy sent me a message which goes like "hey there..how are you? =]"

Im like whoa.. what the heck is this?? o.O then it got a bit amusing.. p//s he thought i was 24.. im like oh really?? hmmm

Den I added him into my "limited profile list" basically, he cant see anything but i see everything.. thats a trick i still feel guilty of ;P

I did some screening to see if this dude is a hoax or a pedo but everything doesnt sound fishy.. honestly, he looks *cough* hot and reminds me of skrtel so you seen what i mean *wink* (look below)

I did some digging at his profile.. turns out he's from Israel, was in the army and is a Jew! I mean how cool can that be! I was thinking like hey, maybe i can learn Hebrew from him that'll be awesome!

sigh..then it got weird =.=

Chatted on msn, then webcammed a bitty.. then he asked weird bizzare questions and started to get pissed off coz i said nothing =.= mind you, his questions were weird... Im cool with guys asking random questions but he's questions are super weird and urgh if u know what i meant...plus, i kinda teased him about *cough* 3-1 everton's victory (he's a red devil) and that sent him off the racket..

one thing tho.. he was trying to befriend asian girls because they're "cute, nice and not rude".. blimey, me? you'll be utterly disappointed.. I punch guys like Ng, throw log books at Chai when he taunts me about Persie being a weakling and a very passionate Gunner.. you see?? nowhere close =.=" double swt

Lesson of the Day: It's very easy to get disappointed with smexy guys cause sometime they turn out to be really bizzare.. but still, it did amuses the heck out of me..

After a two week hiatus from school, I really want to get ready for a fresh start and try the best I can. Although that might include flunking Finance, HR and Stats. Just have to give it my best shot... till later cheers!
